May 28, 2025. Minneapolis, Minnesota. Day 7 of 170.
Today, we spent another rainy day in Minneapolis, finding refuge at the Minneapolis Institute of Art. The Minneapolis Institute of Art is a prominent art museum located near downtown Minneapolis. It’s renowned for its extensive and diverse collection, spanning 5,000 years of world history and encompassing over 90,000 works of art. It is one of the largest art museums in the United States, offering free general admission to the public.
The museum is entirely too large to cover in just one visit. We concentrated our time on the Asian Arts exhibit, which is considered one of the finest and most comprehensive Asian art collections in the country, featuring Chinese architecture, jades, bronzes, and ceramics. While we certainly walked through the remaining exhibits, the collection definitely warrants a couple of visits. General admission to the museum is free to all and well worth the time to visit when you’re in Minneapolis.
