Celebrating Pentecost Sunday at Hope Church, Kalispell, Montana

June 8, 2025. Kalispell, Montana. Day 18 of 170

Today, we celebrated Pentecost Sunday with our brothers and sisters at Hope Church in Kalispell, Montana. The service began with worship and a baptism. It was a powerful symbol of faith as a young lady, right there to the side of the auditorium in an inflatable pool, committed her life to Jesus Christ.

We were most impacted by the charismatic worship of our brothers and sisters. In this church, “Hallelujahs,” “Thank You, Jesus,” and “Amens” were plentiful throughout the service. We were truly moved by the humility of the building—a simple warehouse with a roughly finished concrete floor and plain chairs.

Pastor Lance Terrell taught from Proverbs 3:1-8, delivering a powerful message on our need to rely on God and seek His wisdom instead of the wisdom of the world. He quoted Proverbs 3:5-6: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” There is so much information in this world, and we tend to seek guidance everywhere else but from the Lord, who has abundantly provided wisdom through His Word. Today, we celebrate yet another helper, the Holy Spirit, whom we can count on for help in any time of need.

We experienced the presence of the Holy Spirit at Hope Church in Kalispell. The love our brothers and sisters showed for one another and their welcoming us was a palpable message that Jesus reigns over this church. We pray for discernment and wisdom for the leaders of this church as it continues to grow. Our parting thought for this church is from Paul’s words recorded in Romans 15:13: “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.”
