Return to Tahoma Valley Yields a Personal Best

August 4, 2025. Yelm, Washington. Day 74 of 170

Our final outing before packing up for Japan was a special one. A long trip always brings a long to-do list: cleaning, fueling, and storing the car, plus last-minute shopping. But with such beautiful weather, we decided to postpone all of that and go play a round of golf. We returned to Tahoma Valley, a course we’d enjoyed before and one that fit our entertainment budget perfectly.

Given the heat wave across the United States, I still can’t believe it was August 4th and I was playing in 61-degree weather! As I’d mentioned previously, Tahoma Valley starts with three challenging holes, but once we got past them, the rest of the course was very enjoyable. In fact, the back nine resulted in the best nine holes of my life, with six pars and a score of 40.

This round of golf was the perfect way to close out our “westbound adventure” and enjoy the incredible summer weather Seattle has to offer. Now, we’re setting our sights on Japan. Stay tuned!
