Discover Beachwood Golf Club: Great Value and Fun Rounds

May 7, 2025. North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Today, we played the wonderfully groomed and playable Beachwood Golf Club in North Myrtle Beach. We were lucky to be paired with a wonderful couple of local residents retired from Connecticut, Ed and Sandy. They are both very good players and a joy to share a round with. Ed and I played from the gold tees, and these were the most enjoyable 5,878 yards of golf I have ever played. I achieved my record low score of 83, and Barbara scored a decent 113.

When we arrived at the parking lot, a friendly attendant came to our car and picked up our bags. Once we told him we would be hitting golf balls at the range before our round, he said, “I will set them up at the range for you.” The pro shop staff welcomed me and facilitated the purchase of range balls and checked us in. Once we were ready, we took our bags, they loaded them up, and we were off without much waiting.

The golf course was in great condition; the greens were very healthy, and all rolled with the same speed throughout the round, making it easy to gauge their slopes and pace. The fairways felt spongy under our feet, and getting out of the sand was manageable as the bunkers were well-groomed. The most important feature of the course is its open nature and the ability to achieve pars and bogeys even when you find yourself off the fairway.

The course is a true delight to play; in fact, we enjoyed it so much that we reserved an early tee time for tomorrow morning. The course is very well-priced and a great value, certainly standing out against courses with green fees twice as expensive. Make Beachwood a stop on your golfing vacation in Myrtle Beach; you will keep coming back for more of what the course has to offer.
