June 1, 2025. Bozeman, Montana. Day 11 of 170
Today, we worshiped at Journey Church in Bozeman, Montana. We arrived early for the 9 AM service and were greeted by a parking lot attendant who ushered us into the lobby for fresh coffee. The church was packed, families filled every chair. The worship music was inspiring and moving. Lead Pastor Bob Schwahn delivered a powerful message on the importance of bringing the good news of the Gospel to others. He shared a relatable message about the fears we face when speaking to others about Jesus. Pastor Bob offered a number of tips, but most powerful was his advice to simply tell our life story to others, specifically what Jesus has done in our lives.
After leaving church, we headed for our first true hike of the trip. The South Cottonwood Trail is a beautiful six-mile trail with only 600 feet of ascent. The trail parallels an abundant stream, running very high and providing a calming sound along the hike. We encountered many locals running, biking, or simply hiking with their dogs. We certainly got to pet many of them; no leashes were needed—these are the best-behaved dogs in the world. After our hike, it was another grocery run and on to the Airbnb. This was a wonderful Sunday of worship, exercise, and rest.
