June 29, 2025. Blaine, Washington. Day 39 of 170
Today, we worshipped with our brothers and sisters at Christ The King (CTK) Community Church in Bellingham, Washington. This is a large church; while we only had 40 in attendance at Packwood last Sunday, today there were more than 40 worshippers in our row alone! We were welcomed at the doors and enjoyed fresh coffee served in the lobby. The worship team comprised just two instruments, a guitar and a piano, but was enhanced by nine voices that led us in both contemporary songs and old hymns.
Pastor Grant Fishbook delivered a message titled “Restoring Calm.” Grant said we should turn over all our worries, anxieties, troubles, and toils to Jesus. He taught specifically on the words “Now unto Him” as words we should be reminded of when faced with troubles. Grant led us to the words from the Epistle of Jude 24-25: “To him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy—to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen.”
We left Christ The King Community Church filled with joy and peace. It’s true that our nomadic lives, traveling from place to place and enjoying all the beauty the world has to offer, may appear carefree on the surface. However, we too share the burdens of human existence, even with the knowledge that soon He will come and rescue us all from these decaying bodies and this sinful world. I pray that as you read this blog, whatever problem or situation you feel you can handle on your own or are holding tight in your hands, you will turn it over to Him. He longs to carry your burdens and sorrows, for He loves you unconditionally and wants you to trust Him.
