Melancholy Departure from Unforgettable Japan

October 7, 2025. Seattle, Washington.

Our 2025 Japan adventure has come to an end 🇯🇵. After visiting 18 Japanese cities and towns over the course of 62 days, it’s time to return to America. Usually, even world travelers like ourselves are ready to come home after a couple of months abroad—but not this time. Japan is so special, so unique, and so rich that we certainly felt no nostalgia for our home country, only sadness that our trip would end.

What’s Next?

Next on the blog will be our 2,975-mile drive from Seattle, Washington, to Washington, D.C., but we promise a full account of our Japanese experience in the form of a comprehensive traveler’s guide.

A Note on the Picture

Disregard the tired faces in the picture; they are the evidence of a long transpacific flight with a drastic time-zone differential.

Oh I feel you! Especially after such a long time! There is one thing that I really enjoy and even look forward to when coming home from holidays: sorting out and editing photos, making photo books – and of course creating one or several movies.
